Violent Media Violence On Young Youth And Teenagers

How has violence in the mass media affect young youth and teenagers in their daily life in today s society? Violence in the Mass Media is shaping young youth and teenager’s brains in their early aged of life, impacting their daily lives and delivering the wrong message. The media are sure the messenger but not always it delivers a healthy a message. Violence in the mass media is leading young youth and teenagers to think violence is acceptable, they commit crimes in society, and violence in the mass media will result in emotional desensitization. Firstly, Violence in the mass media leads young youths to think violence is acceptable to society by all the violence in the cartoon they see. In the article â€Å"Children and Media Violence† it states, â€Å"What mainly distinguishes children’s cartoon from adult’s program is that animated characters are repeatedly smashed, stabbed, run over, and pushed off high cliffs, but they do not stay dead for long† (Wass). When young youth sees this they think if they cause harm to other children it will be acceptable. They see the violence in their favorite cartoon, they smashed others kills others and they are still alive. Young youth may think if their favorite cartoon does harm and there is no consequently. They can make the same and get the same results, but they are in a huge mistake.
